Description : কাঞ্চন পুটি শরীর অনেকটাই সংকুচিত আর এদের উপরের চোয়াল কিছুটা লম্বা হয়।শরীর রূপালী রঙের যা পিঠের দিকে গাঢ় আর আঁশের গোড়া গাঢ় রঙের হয়।লেজের কাছে একটি বড় কালো চিহ্ন দেখা যায়।পৃষ্ঠ পাখনার রশ্মিতে কালো চওড়া রেখা আছে।প্রজনন মৌসুমে,কিছু মাছের পার্শ্বদেশ লাল আর বেগুনি সাথে লাল কানকো দেখা যায়।
