Description : The Indian leaf-nosed bat has a reddish-brown or grayish-brown fur, large ears, and a distinctively shaped nose with a leaf-like protrusion. They are relatively large for a microbat, with a wingspan of up to 40 cm.

These bats can be found in a variety of habitats, including forests, caves, and urban areas. They roost in groups in caves, rock crevices, and buildings.

The Indian leaf-nosed bat feeds primarily on insects, including moths, beetles, and grasshoppers. They use their echolocation to locate prey and have been observed swooping down to catch insects in mid-air.

These bats are nocturnal, meaning that they are active at night. They use echolocation to navigate and find food, and are known to be skilled flyers.

Females give birth to a single offspring each year, typically in the spring. The young are born hairless and are dependent on their mother for several weeks until they are able to fly and hunt on their own.

The Indian leaf-nosed bat is considered a species of least concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), as it is relatively common throughout its range and is not currently facing any major threats.
