Description : The Blue Rock Thrush is a passerine whose male is visibly different from the female (length 23 cm, weight 50 g, wing 12 cm, bill 2.7 cm, tarsus 2.8 cm, tail 8.5 cm approximately). The male in the breeding season has indigo-blue back, dark brown wings and tail. In the nonbreeding season, it has brownish-buff fringes all over its blue body. The female in the breeding season looks dark slate-brown with a bluish tinge and dark bars. Its underpart looks brownish with buff spots and blackish scaling. Its irises are brown, bill is dark brown, and legs and feet are black. It feeds on insects, lizards, small frogs, figs and berries. It breeds in April-July.
